In honor of chamber members Kayleigh Apicerno and Michael Sciamanna being featured in Fairfield County Business Journal's 40 leading professionals under the age of 40, we've decided to make a list of 40 fun facts about said featured members! Kayleigh Apicerno Past: 1. Started off as a cashier at Stop and Shop 2. Graduated Southern Connecticut State University in 2008 3. In April 2008 she ranked 3rd place in the National AMA Case Competition 4. Starting in October 2011 Kayleigh joined Young Emerging Professional and is now chair 5. Recognized for outstanding volunteer service in 2011 by Seymour Historical Society 6. Participated in Leadership Greater Valley class of 2013 7. Co-chaired Pinktoberfest in 2013 8. Honored in 2014 in Women Making A Difference in The Valley 9. Featured in 2016th Fairfield County Business Journal's 40 under 40 Currently: 10. Is serving on the Harvest House committee 11. Works as Secretary on the board of My City kitchen 12. Is Webmaster and Board Member for Seymour Historical Society 13. Serves Corporate Volunteer Council at the Valley United Way 14. Owns her own company, Cloud Media Marketing, where she teaches about social media 15. Is a Board Member of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce Other fun stuff! 16. Kayleigh's birthday is June 14th 17. She believes it's important to learn something new everyday 18. In March of 2015 she visited St. Lucia (which was her first time out of the country besides a brief visit to Canada as a child). During this visit she challenged herself by limiting her technology use which allowed for a better enjoyment of the beautiful island: "It was a gorgeous island. I did not use my phone or any technology the whole time I was away (besides taking photos)! It was tough, especially since my business is social media, but somehow I made it through!" 19. She's excited to marry her fiancé, John 20. She wants to learn Italian Bonus: She has participated in NaPoWriMo for several years. Michael Sciamanna Past: 21. Attended Vestal High School 22. Graduated Sacred Heart University in 1999 23. Received Market Leadership Award during time working at Bank of America 24. In 2009 became Board Member of the Shelton Youth Lacrosse, Football and Basketball 22. Earned Market Leadership Award in 2009 23. Participated in Leadership Greater Valley class of 2013 24. In 2014 he argued on behalf of his son for full day kindergarten in Shelton. His first grade son explained; "I think some kids in our class really could have been helped and we wouldn’t have to spend so much time reviewing things that we know already." 25. Completed Moody's Small Business Certification 26. Ranked in top 1% of Bankers (Top One Recognition) within Webster during 2014 27. Was United Way Coordinator of the Year in 2014 Currently: 28. Is Vice President Market Manager at Webster Bank 29. Is an executive Board Member of United Way 30. Football fan 31. Is passionate about his clients, coworkers, and community 32. Wants to surround himself with inspiring people who have a passion for what they do and share that passion with others 33.
